Kadakkal Ramesh received FOKANA Award 2012 in Houston, USA.

Kadakkal Ramesh, Vice Chairman, Kerala State NRI Co-ordination Council,  received FOKANA Award -2012 in Houston, USA for his outstanding services to the NRI society all over  the world since last 15 years. FOKANA is the biggest keralite organisation based in USA with more than 10,000 members. They conduct a convention once in every two years. The 15th convention was held in Houston, USA from 30th June to 3th July, 2012. Nearly 1500 delegates from different parts of USA and Canada participated in the convention.

The convention was inaugurated by famous magician Sri.Gopinath Muthucad. Several distingished personalities like Dr.M.P.Pillai, Aranmula Hariharputhran, Satheesh Babu Payyannur, Jaya Vijayan, Hari Mannadi were present at the function. Several seminars were conducted during the three days in the area of literary, religious, political and cultural. Sports and arts competitions were held for children and youth.

The final function was inaugurated by Smt.Nirupama Rao, Indian ambassador to USA. The FOKANA Awards were given by Sri.G.K.Pillai, President, FOKANA. Smt.Mariamma Pillai was elected as the new President of FOKANA. 

After the convention Kadakkal Ramesh visited New York and Washington also.
