New office for Pravasi Bharathi News Bulletin inaugurated

A new office space for Pravasi Bharathi News Bulletin was inaugurated on 4th March. 2010 near Keralakaumudi junction, Pettah, Trivandrum by Kerala State Water Resources Minister Sri. N.K.Premachandran. Sri. V.Surendran Pillai MLA presided over the function. Other dignataries who participated in the function are Sri.M.S.Ravi (Managing Editor, Keralakaumudi), Dr. M.A.Karim, Dr.Rigi G. Nair, (MD. Consumerfed), S.Ahamed, R. Purushothaman, (MD, Al Canary, Dubai), Pettah Ward Councillor, Kadakkal Ramesh, Poovachal Nazar etc. A new website for the Pravasi Bharathi News Bulletin was also launched by the minister. Inauguration of the data bank of NRIs and gulf returnees was also inaugurated on the occasion by the minister by collecting the details of Dubai based NRI Sri. R. Purushothaman (MD, Al Canary Trading).

8th Pravasi Bharathi Day celebrations were held in Trivandrum from 9th January, 2010 to 11th Jan, 2010. The inaugural function was held at Gandhi Park, East Fort, Trivandrum and it was inaugurated by Kerala Law Minister Sri.K.Vijayakumar in the presence of Sri.V.Jayaprakash(Deputy Mayor, TVM), Justice D. Sreedevi, Sri. Sarathchandra Prasad(Congress), Sri.Sivankutty(BJP), and several others from different sections of the society.
The valedictory function was held at Mascot Hotel, Tvm on 11th, Jan 2010, which was inaugurated by Marthanda Varma Maharaja of Travancore in the presence of Sri.V.Surendran Pillai MLA, Dr.Vellayani Arjunan (Padmashree Winner 2010), Sri.E.M.Najeeb, President, Chamber of Commerce, Sri.Balagopal, Chairman CNRI, New Delhi, Sri.Noushad Punnathala (President, Pravasi Sangham, Kollam) etc. Balachalachithrolsava winners were honoured in the function with mementos.

Several NRIS and social leaders were honoured with Pravasi Bharathi Award in the function. They are Sri. Oommen Chandy, Sri. Shreyams Kumar MLA, Sri. Kalyanaraman, Sri. Younus Kunju, Sri.T.K.Govindan Master, Dr.Bhima Govindan, Sri. C.R.G.Nair, Dubai, Sri.Saji basheer, Sri.Pillai, MD, KSFE, Dr.Jayapaul, Kumari Fousiya Younus, Sri.Chaithram Mohan, Sri.Raghu Dubai etc.
